Thermoplastic vulcanizates.

Facts and data concerning organosilane technology as support for the development of new thermoplastic A polymer material that turns to liquid when heated and becomes solid when cooled. There are more than 40 types of thermoplastics, including acrylic, polypropylene, polycarbonate and polyethylene.  vulcanizate composites are reviewed in this paper. Use of resol resins and peroxide technology for the vulcanization vulcanization (vŭl'kənəzā`shən), treatment of rubber to give it certain qualities, e.g., strength, elasticity, and resistance to solvents, and to render it impervious to moderate heat and cold.  of thermoplastic elastomers is said to be a well-established technology. However, peroxide curing is said to have some major drawbacks such as process stability, odor, color and toxicity issues; and resol resins technology is said to suffer from moisture uptake and color issues. The paper discusses several ways in which organosilane technology enables the combination of elastomer elastomer (ĭlăs`təmər), substance having to some extent the elastic properties of natural rubber. The term is sometimes used technically to distinguish synthetic rubbers and rubberlike plastics from natural rubber.  vulcanization, filler dispersion and adhesion promotion.
