Thermoplastic vulcanizates.

Zeotherm TPVs are said to combine the processing and favorable economics of engineering thermoplastics with the heat and oil resistance and flexibility of thermoset A polymer-based liquid or powder that becomes solid when heated, placed under pressure, treated with a chemical or via radiation. The curing process creates a chemical bond that, unlike a thermoplastic, prevents the material from being remelted. See thermoplastic.  elastomers. The result is said to be a family of materials that is ideal for underhood applications ranging from hoses, ducts, connectors and boots to dynamic seals. The company completed a series of studies benchmarking Zeotherm polymers versus conventional materials used for flexible, low durometer applications, including polypropylene-based TPVs, copolyester and melt-processible rubber. These studies evaluated the retention of physical properties after short-term (336 hours) exposure to 150[degrees]C air and hot oil, conditions said to be common under-the-hood. Zeotherm TPVs were said to be the only materials that survived hot oil exposure, with minimal change in physical properties. Results were said to include superior retention of flexibility, stress/strain properties, hardness and low volume swell
For other uses, see crescendo.
A volume swell is a musical crescendo commonly associated with the electric guitar.

Roughly speaking, the sound of a guitar note is characterised by an initial 'attack' where the pick or nail produces higher pitched
