Thermoformable Nylon 6 arrives in resin & sheet. (Keeping Up With: Thermoforming).

Nylon nylon, synthetic thermoplastic material characterized by strength, elasticity, resistance to abrasion and chemicals, low moisture absorbency, and capacity to be permanently set by heat. After 10 years of research E. I.  6 has good engineering properties but is ill-suited ill-suited adj [couple] → incompatible;

ill-suited adj [couple
 to thermoforming because of its poor melt strength. That has been remedied by a new impact-modified, 15% glass-reinforced nylon 6 from Bayer Corp., Pittsburgh Pittsburgh (pĭts`bərg), city (1990 pop. 369,879), seat of Allegheny co., SW Pa., at the confluence of the Allegheny and the Monongahela rivers, which there form the Ohio River; inc. 1816. . Durethan DP2-2140/15ZH2.0 reportedly imparts formability plus an outstanding stiffness/impact balance and heat resistance of l40 C (continuous use) and 170 C (short term). Thermoforming is now a contender for auto engine shrouds, underbody and side panels, and sound shields. Tel: (800) 662-2927, www.bayerus.com

The new resin resin, any of a class of amorphous solids or semisolids. Resins are found in nature and are chiefly of vegetable origin. They are typically light yellow to dark brown in color; tasteless; odorless or faintly aromatic; translucent or transparent; brittle, fracturing  is available as 2- to 6-mm black sheets from Sustaplast KG in Germany Germany (jûr`mənē), Ger. Deutschland, officially Federal Republic of Germany, republic (2005 est. pop. 82,431,000), 137,699 sq mi (356,733 sq km).  and its subsidiary, Sustatec, in Edgewood, N.Y Tel: (800) 832-6787; www.sustatec.com

Sustaplast says its SustavacuPA6 GF sheet forms well, as was demonstrated by trials in Germany by machinery maker Adolf Illig Maschinenbau GmbH. "What has won us over, in addition to easy processing and good mechanical properties, is accuracy in reproducing detail and attractive surface quality," says Illig application engineer Sven Engelmann.
