Thermo King's Cryogenic transport temperature control system.

Available for trucks and trailers. Thermo King's fully patented cryogenic system uses liquid carbon dioxide carbon dioxide, chemical compound, CO2, a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas that is about one and one-half times as dense as air under ordinary conditions of temperature and pressure.  (C[O.sup.2]) to offer maximum temperature control, combined with extreme environmental friendliness.

Thermo King's cryogenic refrigeration refrigeration, process for drawing heat from substances to lower their temperature, often for purposes of preservation. Refrigeration in its modern, portable form also depends on insulating materials that are thin yet effective.  unit replaces the usual diesel engine, compressor and R-404A refrigerant re·frig·er·ant
adj.
1. Cooling or freezing; refrigerating.

2. Reducing fever.

n.
1. A substance, such as air, ammonia, water, or carbon dioxide, used to provide cooling either as the working substance of
with carbon dioxide, an extremely efficient refrigerant. The system has a significantly higher cooling capacity with a temperature pull-down and recovery time up to three times faster than traditional diesel units. The result is that there is very little variation from the set temperature, even on busy multi-drop operations with regular opening and closing of the doors.

The use of liquid C[O.sup.2] as a refrigerant prevents environmentally harmful CFC CFC

emissions. There are no polluting NOx or particulate emissions normally associated with diesel engines. The only emission is C[O.sup.2] gas, which has been recycled from industrial processes and therefore has no incremental greenhouse gas effect.

With no engine or compressor, the noise levels on Cryogenic units are also exceptionally low. This is beneficial for late night deliveries as it eliminates the noise nuisance for local residents.

Models in the Cryogenic range include the ST-CR 300 and the ST-CR 300 Multi-temp, ideal for urban distribution trucks up to nine metres long. Also available is the SB-111 CR, for Wailers that hold up to 33 Euro pallets, and the C[O.sup.2] Hybrid, which works with most existing Thermo King diesel powered truck systems, including the MD/KD/RD/TD and TS Series, to provide substantially enhanced efficiency.
