The College of St. Scholastica is an independent comprehensive college in the Catholic Benedictine tradition with programs in the liberal arts liberal arts, term originally used to designate the arts or studies suited to freemen. It was applied in the Middle Ages to seven branches of learning, the trivium of grammar, logic, and rhetoric, and the quadrivium of arithmetic, geometry, astronomy, and music.  and sciences and in professional career fields. The College enrolls 3,000 students: 1,900 traditional undergraduates, 500 graduate students, and 600 students in the Accelerated Degree Evening Program for working adults.
