Theodore Presser Company The Theodore Presser Company is an American music publishing and distribution company located in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and formerly based in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. It is the oldest continuing music publisher in the United States.  is now a distributor for Universal Edition (UE), a European music publisher. Presser distributes UE's print music catalog in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  and Canada.

Founded in Vienna in 1901 to serve the needs of the Austrian market for editions of standard and educational musical publications, UE quickly incorporated a number of smaller Austrian and German publishers. Under the leadership of Emil Hertzka Emil Hertzka (born Budapest, 3 August 1869, died Vienna, 9 May 1932) was an influential and pioneering music publisher who was responsible for printing and promoting some of the most important European musical works of the 20th century. , UE began publishing the music of such early twentieth-century composers as Bela Bartok, Frederick Delius, Leos Janacek, Ernst Krenek, Gustav Mahler, Karol Szymanowski and Kurt Weill.

Theodore Presser Company was established in 1883 by Theodore Presser and began publishing the music magazine The Etude e·tude
