The winds of change.

For the past 25 years Computer Technology Review has led the industry with its in-depth coverage of data storage technology. As we embark on the next 25 years you'll begin to notice some changes at CTR See click-through rate. . The most obvious change with this issue is the departure of Mark Ferelli as Editor-In-Chief. Mark's vision and knowledge have been the cornerstones of CTR's editorial quality for 18 years. We thank him for his valued contributions to CTR and West World and wish him the best in his new venture. Mark's final piece as Editor-In-Chief appears below.

Any publication that has been in business for 25 needs a bit of a makeover from time to time and that is part of my mission at CTR. We are currently re-evaluating our sections and features within CTR to make sure that we have the optimal editorial mix to serve the needs of our readers. Part of the challenge is to ensure that we are making changes that will improve the publication and not just change for change sake.

One of the characteristics that most differentiates CTR is that much of out editorial content consists of articles contributed by the storage vendors themselves. This will not change. It is our firm belief that no one can provide better insights into the value and benefits of a particular storage technology than the people who actually created it. Our objective is to leverage that information with the appropriate additional features and perspectives that provide additional context about how individual storage technologies fit together in the overall enterprise storage picture.

To fulfill that objective we will be adding new features to the publication. One of these features that debuts this month is the CTR Interview, a monthly feature interview with a key industry executive. This issue's interview is with Brenda Zawatski, vice president and general manager of Storage Technology Corp's ILMS ILMS Integrated Library Management System
ILMS Integrated Logistics Management System
ILMS Indiana Lake Management Society
ILMS Integrated Land Management System
ILMS Improved Launcher Mechanical Systems

We are also in the process of making CTR a more interactive and collaborative experience for our readers, both in print and online. To achieve this goal we are extending an invitation to you to participate with two new features: letters to the editor (these can be sent to us via e-mail at letters@wwpi.com) and CTR Perspective, a guest editorial that will provide a forum for independent opinions on the storage industry. Watch our website at www.wwpi.com for new online features as well, such as weekly polls and talk back forums.

Change is also a constant for data storage industry. One of the key recent changes is the migration from ATA (1) (AT Attachment) The specification for IDE drives. See IDE.
