The first book of the StoryMaze series, The Ultimate Wave welcomes readers to the wacky world of Australian writer Terry Denton Terry Denton (b. 1950) is an Australian illustrator and author. The second youngest of five boys, he was born and grew up in Melbourne, Victoria. [1]

Denton has written and illustrated more than 30[1]
 and his large cast of colorful characters. Once introduced to the protagonists (Nico, Claudia and Mikey) by the cheeky narrator NARRATOR. Obsolete.  of the book, reluctant readers will be rarin' to follow them on their madcap surfing adventures through a parallel universe and other "out-of-this world" locations.

This book proves unusual in that it addresses the reader in the second person and gives him/her many meaningless points to ponder, such as "Have you ever heard of the planet Duryllium?" Unlike standard middle grade novels, this graphic SF novel tells its story through the combined usage of illustrations, light text and comic strips
