The super sweet way he won me over.

THE SAID IT WITH FLOWERS. Valentine's Day was shaping up to be the same boring holiday. But, when I opened my locker, I found an awesome surprise--a boy had left a dozen roses and a tiny pink note asking me to be his valentine. He truly made my day.

Sure, heart-shaped boxes full of chocolates are nice. But they can be kinda ... unoriginal. Don't get us wrong--any romantic gesture from a guy ya dig should be mucho appreciated. Still, we can't help but love, love, love these so-sweet stories from GL girls of how their crushes convinced them to "Be Mine." Prepare to say, "Aaaaaaww!" Do any of these guys have brothers?

HE PLAYED ME I had the lead in my school's musical. Thirty minutes before show time, my friend told me he had lost the hat from his costume and needed help finding it. I was very stressed so I told my BFF to go with him, but he insisted he needed my help. I spent 10 minutes looking for it. When I finally found the hat, there was a note inside that read, "In the past four months I've spent rehearsing the play, it took me until the last day to realize you're more than a friend to me. Will you give me a shot?" I did!

HE TOOK THE CAKE My crush lived in Staten Island, N.Y., and I live in Brooklyn. He always knew I was a sucker for marshmallow-iced devil's food cake. One day, in the freezing cold, he took a five-mile ferry ride to Brooklyn to bring me the cake along with 20 roses and a stuffed Bugs Bunny--my favorite. That's when I knew I definitely wanted to be with him.

HE SWEPT ME OFF MY FEET I was leaving this boy's house, and it was dark out so I was carefully walking down the stairs. All of a sudden, my crush came over, picked me up and carried me down the steps. It was the sweetest thing a boy had ever done for me. That's when I knew he would be the most perfect boyfriend in the world.

HE WENT OUT OF HIS WAY He "accidentally" walked me home a few times. We'd get off at the same bus stop and, as we walked home, we'd talk and joke and stuff. By the time we got to my door, he pretended he was just not paying attention because he was with me. This happened at least 10 times, and he always had the same excuse!

HE WAS A POET ... AND I DIDN'T KNOW IT My guy friend helped me carry some books from one class to another. In science class, I saw a letter neatly tucked away into one book. I was puzzled, so I read it. It said, "Roses are red/Violets are blue/I don't want anything else/But to be with you."

HE MADE THE CALL Just before our Sadie Hawkins dance, where the girls are supposed to ask the guys, this boy came to my house. He said his morn had dropped him off at the wrong address, so I let him use my phone to call his friend. He spoke really loud, so I could hear every word. I heard him say, "No, I don't have a date either, man. I don't know what I'll do if You-Know-Who doesn't ask me!" When he got off the phone, he looked at me and said, "Thanks, You-Know-Who." I cracked up and asked him to the dance.

HE WAS BEARY NICE Our class took a field trip to an arcade, and my crush wanted to win me a teddy bear. His skills weren't the best, so he ended up spending all his money to get the bear. It was the sweetest thing ever, and we officially became GF and BF.

HE WAITED ME OUT When Jake asked me out, I was wary because I'd just broken off a hurtful relationship. He said, "No problem. Whenever you're up for a date, here's my number." A month later, I called. He took me to my favorite diner, then we watched Fourth of July fireworks. After, he pulled out my favorite dessert--pumpkin cheesecake. I asked him where he bought it, because it's only sold around Thanksgiving. He confessed his morn helped him make it.

HE BROADCAST HIS FEELINGS This crazy boy had the biggest crush on me. One day, on the school speaker, he announced that he liked me! I was so embarrassed. But, after a while, I got this great feeling for him.

HE WISHED FOR ME Every Valentine's Day, I got a gift and a card signed, "Anonymous." No one ever said anything, so the mystery remained. This past year, my best guy friend's birthday was coming up so I asked him what he wanted and he said, "Your being my girlfriend is the best gift you could ever give me." Then he told me he was the one who gave me all those heartfelt gifts.

HE THREW A PRIVATE PARTY This boy invited me to his birthday party. I thought it was going to be a boy-girl party, but I was the only girl there. Weird. Then the guys left at 5, but-my invite had said to stay 'til 6. Once we were alone, he asked me out.

HE MADE ME A STAR My best guy friend signed us up for a star walk, where we'd learn about the constellations. When we got to the point where everyone was sitting on the grass to look at the stars, he made a heart out of rocks with our initials inside, which read, "STAR." Then, he read me poems about stars and love ... and us.

HE SAFEGUARDED ME My BF and I were at the pool, and he was being really mean. A lifeguard walked over and told my boyfriend he'd better treat me nicely because he'd do anything to have me as a girlfriend. The next day, I came home and my bedroom was covered in rose petals. The lifeguard was standing there, and he asked me out!

HE GOT ME TO WARM UP TO HIM On a cold day after school, my now-BF walked me home--more than a mile--in only a T-shirt since he had given me his jacket. When we were about halfway there, he confessed his feelings and gave me a rose. I was shocked but managed to say I liked him, too. By the time we got to my house, I had a date for Friday night, a new BF and a warm body because of his coat.

HE WAS MY IDOL My guy friend and I were eating in the cafeteria when, all of a sudden, he stood up and started singing "You Are My Sunshine." I thought he was insane. The next day, he did the same thing but, this time, he sang "I Got You, Babe." Only then did I realize he was singing to me.

HE MINDED HIS MANNERS My crush holds doors for me, helps me when I need it and is super-nice to my friends. I love his old-fashioned ways.

HE WAS JUST... himself. He didn't try to impress me. I am happy with that, hands down!

HE HAD THE GOLDEN TICKET

I went to a costume party, where a guy was dressed as Willy Wonka. I was dressed as a candy bar, so we just sorta collided. The next day at school, we walked to classes together and talked about the party. We rarely saw each other between classes but, when we did, he always stopped to talk. One day, he gave me a candy bar and told me to open it. A golden ticket inside read, "Congrats, cutie, you've won a date! Meet me Saturday at 4 p.m. at the movies. Please attend or Willy Wonka will be very sad." We've been together ever since!
