Succumbing to a sudden spasm of political correctness, managers at the Sea World theme park near Brisbane have changed "fairy penguin" to "little penguin" in all their literature and signs, for fear that homosexuals might find the original term offensive. But are homosexuals really that sensitive Down Under? The chairman of a local gay support group was quoted thus: "If the penguins were called 'poofter penguins' or something more direct, then it might be a problem, but I don't see the name fairy penguin as a mickey-take at all." We think that means he doesn't mind.
