Dodson (archaeology and anthropology, U. of Bristol, UK) presents a concise catalogue of every known burial site of a ruler of Scotland, England and the latter's precursor states. In some cases, only the town of the burial is known; where data on the tomb and internment is available they are given, along with any subsequent movements or examinations of the body. Where possible, illustrations of the monument and/or vault are also included. Four appendices also list the burial places of royal consorts, of the Stuarts in exile, and of foreign monarchs buried in Great Britain, and provide summary descriptions, illustrations and plans of the principal churches and chapels that house royal burials. Illustrated in b&w. Distributed in the U.S. by International Publishers Marketing.
