The real world of AgriMarketing.AgriMarketing can learn lot from reality TV--even Paris Hilton There's a series of makeover shows from redoing homes to people. They restructure everything by plastic surgery and building walls. In marketing, we often bandage the problem. Perhaps, we should more often take the makeover approach and tear down the walls instead of just adding decoration. "The Fear Factor" is about pushing limits from sky diving sky diving, sport of descending partly by parachute from an airplane or similar craft. Engaged in for both recreational and competitive purposes, sky diving involves three phases of activity: the free fall, the descent with open parachute, and the landing. to eating maggots. Do we use the same answer because it worked in the past? Could we have more cutting edge initiatives if we just push our fears? My favorite reality show is "Nashville Star." Not only do contestants sing in front of the world, they also write and perform their own song. When the judges critique, it involves the vocal performance and writing talent. Could more of us learn from not just to talking the talk but writing our own paths, telling the world and then standing for the critiques? The next time you're watching a reality show, I hope you'll see more marketing opportunities than just good product placement or public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. By its nature, public relations is devoted to serving particular interests by presenting them to the public in the most spin. Who knows, maybe there's even a lesson from "The Bachelor!"
