Sir Iqbal Sacranie, secretary general of the official Muslim Council of Britain, and given his knighthood by Blair some months ago, quite agrees. Others on the committees include Inayat Bunglawala, who refers to Osama bin Laden as a "freedom fighter," and Tariq Ramadan, who preaches that Muslims should live in the West on their own terms and need never assimilate. One Downing Street adviser is Ahmad Thomson, born in Zimbabwe but a convert to Islam, and a lawyer. He believes that the Holocaust is a lie, and that a conspiracy of Jews and Freemasons control Blair and are responsible for the war in Iraq. "Londonistan" is not the amusing sobriquet it seemed once to be.
