The power of birth. (Media Reviews).

The Power of Birth by Baby's Birth Benefits, LLC, $44.00 (including shipping), 262-432-GAME (4263) or 1-877-4 R BUNDLE.

Recently, I attended the ALACE Empowering Women in the Childbearing Year Workshop in Milwaukee, WI. The weekend was a very positive experience. In addition to all of the enrichment that ALACE provided for us, the local sponsors treated us to a showing of their new video, The Power of Birth. It brought tears of joy to many of our eyes.

The Power of Birth is an incredible video journey that moves through the three stages of labor, continues with first breastfeeding experiences, and expresses the joys experienced by new families. It is set to the popular and emotional song Arms Wide Open by Creed. It is like no other birth video I have ever seen. In six minutes, the beautiful photography and videography that make up The Power of Birth display the many emotions experienced in the birth process. The video portrays diverse positions and comfort techniques for laboring and pushing. The prevalent visions of a medical birth are nowhere to be found. You join the couples, families, labor assistants/birth doulas, and midwives celebrating new lives and new families.

I highly recommend this video to all birth professionals, expectant couples, and anyone who loves birth, babies, and families. I have viewed it several times now with various groups. I have heard other birth professionals say, "it was the most moving six minutes I've ever witnessed" and "this video is one of the most powerful things I have ever seen." Newly-expectant couples have shared that, "we have never thought of labor and birth as a highly romantic event that involved such intense emotional bonding."

This video is true to its name and captures the true power of the birth experience. It will capture your heart and the heart of anyone you share it with.
