The never ending story: the ongoing saga of the Channel Street skatepark, San Pedro.EVER SINCE THE BEGINNING of our little project under the freeway here in Pedro (pronounced Peedro), I have harbored the idea of doing some big photo essay in the mag once the whole park was finished. Well, as some of you already know, Channel Street has been under construction and skated for over three years now. I'm starting to seriously question whether we will ever be officially "done." Sure, eventually we will run out of room to build, but who knows--by that time we'll probably want to tear something out and rebuild it differently. So to hell with it. I've got entirely too many photos just sitting around in bins waiting for that finish day that may never happen. The black and white photos on the following pages have been gleaned from literally piles of negatives depicting the day-in, day-out under the 110 Harbor Freeway over the last few years.
