But I am particularly .grateful for another reference in the January issue, that deals with one of the more serious plights currently faced by the Church in Canada. Thank you for summarizing the situation faced by Bishop Crosby and the onerous cross born by all the members of the diocese of St. George, Newfoundland. This must be the first time ever that a Catholic diocese in Canada is facing bankruptcy. The diocese's severe financial straits are the result of the decision of the Supreme Court of Canada The Supreme Court of Canada (French: Cour suprême du Canada) is the highest court of Canada and is the final court of appeal in the Canadian justice system.[1] that found the Episcopal Corporation of St. George "directly and vicariously liable" for the victims of sexual abuse.... I am so glad to be able to contribute to the efforts of the "Friends of Bishop Doug Crosby" from the Diocese of Hamilton, led by Frs. Edward House and Roger Formosi. My brother Leo Blain blain n.
