The For Youth Initiative. For STREET SCHOLARZ program. To engage youth in meaningful, relevant and effective activities to improve their life opportunities and help build on their communitys capacity to prevent crime. STREET SCHOLARZ will focus on 160 at-risk youth aged 13-24 of primarily Caribbean or North African North Africa

The Hispanic Development Council and Latino-Canadian Community Association of Scarborough. For Hispanos Against Violence (Crime Prevention Through Community Education Series). This project will educate the Hispano community in matters of legislation, support and resources available that relate to issues of conflict, non-violent conflict resolution, and conflict avoidance. The initiative will be two-fold, creating a violence prevention model that will be used to train volunteers, and organizing a series of seminars on topics such as conflict avoidance, dispute resolution, and conciliation conciliation: see mediation.  techniques in relation to domestic violence within the Hispanic community. The seminars will also contain a panel segment led by a team of volunteer professionals and experts in order to provide support and resources to deal with domestic conflicts between newcomers to Canada and Hispanics already residing in the Greater Toronto Area The Greater Toronto Area (widely abbreviated as the GTA) is the most populous metropolitan area in Canada.
