For the last three years, we have gone before the city council to ask for a Pride Day proclamation An act that formally declares to the general public that the government has acted in a particular way. The first year the council voted it down (3-2). At the next meeting the community came out in support and spoke along with the students. The council changed their minds and granted us the first Gay Pride Day proclamation. Last year we were number 32 on the council's agenda; we were called upon at 11:15 P.M. The vote was against the proclamation 3-1. This year the council said no proclamations dealing with sexual orientation sexual orientation

 Packard was quoted on a news station that we can have a parade. So guess what? We are having the first Los Altos Gay Pride Day June 4 at noon. Many people are working on it. Plus a documentary will be made this year and perhaps a book or movie.
