Thanks to your magazine and the CDCLI (Community Development Corporation of Long Island), I was able to purchase a co-op in Jamaica Jamaica (jəmā`kə), independent state within the Commonwealth (2005 est. pop. 2,732,000), 4,232 sq mi (10,962 sq km), coextensive with the island of Jamaica, West Indies, S of Cuba and W of Haiti. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of , for $75,000. I was given a $5,000 grant to put toward my down payment as well as an additional closing cost assistance loan.
