The glue that holds it all together: Gateway wireless products strengthen the bond between PC and CE devices: new line of Gateway-branded industry-standard wireless networking products.


Gateway today fortifies the wireless home with the company's first line of Gateway-branded wireless networking See wireless network.  products that enable computer and consumer electronics to share broadband Internet See broadband.  and multimedia applications.

The new products, including broadband routers A device that provides access to the Internet for multiple computers. It typically includes a network switch with four or more Ethernet ports for wired connections to desktop and laptop computers. "Wireless" broadband routers include an 802.11g access point.  and wireless adapters A device that adds wireless connectivity to a computer or PDA. It is attached via a USB port, PC Card, memory card or is plugged into the PCI bus inside the computer. There are three types of wireless adapters: Wi-Fi, cellular and Bluetooth.  for portable and desktop computers, support the company's branded integrator strategy of delivering digital gear that works together. The new wireless networking products advance the company's plan to launch 50 new Gateway-branded products in 15 categories this year and at the same time provide the means to linking many of the company's new digital devices.

The new Gateway wireless networking products allow customers to easily and quickly connect PCs to other PCs or wireless-ready consumer electronics such as the Gateway Connected DVD player A combination DVD player and digital media hub that lets users play local DVDs and CDs as well as stream audio and video data from the network.
