The finalists.

Dear Friends,

Welcome to Greater Los Angeles' premier business event recognizing entrepreneurial achievement--the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur entrepreneur (än'trəprənûr`) [Fr.,=one who undertakes], person who assumes the organization, management, and risks of a business enterprise.  Of The Year awards. This year's event celebrates the accomplishments of 20 outstanding men and women whose success benefits not only themselves, but their employees, the economy, and our community. It's an honor As a verb, to accept a bill of exchange, or to pay a note, check, or accepted bill, at maturity. To pay or to accept and pay, or, where a credit so engages, to purchase or discount a draft complying with the terms of the draft.  to play a part in recognizing these remarkable people.

This is our 17th year of hosting the awards for Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. . Since its inception, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards have become a symbol of achievement.  of Los Angeles. The quality of these entrepreneurs has been outstanding--and this year's finalists are no exception. In fact, I believe the quality of our 2003 finalists marks an all-time high and raises the standard for programs to come.

into opportunity. But they didn't do it alone. They had the support of partners, co-workers, employees, advisors, investors, friends, and family to help them along the way. And when it comes to producing this program, Ernst & Young did not do it alone. We had the tremendous support of judges and sponsors who helped make the event possible.

Our prestigious judging panel was charged with reviewing many high-quality nominees and had the difficult task of choosing the award recipients. In addition, our sponsors provided the assistance and encouragement to allow us to recognize the entrepreneurs we'll be celebrating. We're proud to be associated with these judges and sponsors who share Ernst & Young's passion for supporting entrepreneurship.

It is with great pleasure that I join you in applauding the achievements of this year's finalists. Although there are some who will take home awards, every one is a winner. Congratulations!

Sincerely,

Tony Anderson
