The easiest desserts in the world; have you quit making desserts because it is so easy to buy a cake at your local bakery or pick up a frozen pit at the supermarket?


You may be surprised to learn that many desserts are so simple that it is faster to make one than drive to the shopping center shopping center, a concentration of retail, service, and entertainment enterprises designed to serve the surrounding region. The modern shopping center differs from its antecedents—bazaars and marketplaces—in that the shops are usually amalgamated into .

INCREDIBLE FUDGE CAKE
1 (22.5-ounce) package Martha White
  Chewy Brownie Mix
3 large Hershey's Symphony bars


Prepare brownie mix according to directions on package. Pour hall of mixture into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Place 5ymphony bars over brownie mixture. Pour remaining mix over candy bars. Bake according to directions on package.

CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM SANDWICHES

10 large (3-4 inches) chocolate chip cookies (homemade or from bakery) 10 scoops chocolate ice cream, softened

Place 5 cookies on a cookie sheet, flat side up. Spread ice cream over each cookie. Top with a second cookie. Place the cookie sheet in the freezer for one hour or until sandwiches are frozen, Wrap each ice cream sandwich in plastic wrap, and return to freezer.

Variations: For adults, substitute peppermint or mint chocolate chip Mint Chocolate Chip is an ice cream flavor composed of mint ice cream and small chips of mint chocolate. In some cases the liqueur creme de menthe is used to provide the mint flavor. It is usually green, but may be white in "all natural" or "organic" varieties.  ice cream. For children, use graham crackers spread with peanut butter and filled with vanilla ice cream.

MATTIE'S AND SALWA'S SPECIAL KEY LIME PIE
4 egg yolks
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup key lime juice (regular lime juice may be substituted)
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 Oreo cookie pie crust


Beat egg yolks on high speed until thick. Turn off mixer, and add sweetened condensed milk. Mix on slow speed. While still on slow, add half the lime juice, then cream of tartar cream of tartar, white crystalline powder. Chemically it is potassium hydrogen tartrate, KC4H5O6, the acidic potassium salt of tartaric acid. It is used as the leavening agent in baking powders. , then remaining lime juice. Mix until b[ended. Fill crust, and bake at 325 degrees until set, 10 to 15 minutes or until center is firm and dry to touch. Let pie set in freezer at least 3 hours before serving.

GREG'S FAVORITE STRAWBERRY PIE
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese,
  softened
1 cup confectioner's sugar
1 (8-ounce) container whipped topping
2 cups (or more) chopped strawberries
1 graham cracker pie crust


Mix cream cheese and confectioner's sugar in mixer; add whipped topping and strawberries, and mix well by hand. Pour into crust, and garnish with strawberries. Chill.

BANANA SPLIT CAKE
1 stick margarine, melted
2 cups graham cracker crumbs,
  finely crushed
3 cups powdered sugar
3 eggs
3 sticks margarine, softened
5 bananas
1 large can crushed pineapple
1 large container Cool Whip
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 large jar maraschino cherries, halved


For crust, mix 1 stick melted margarine with 2 cups finely crushed graham cracker crumbs, and place in a 9 x 13-inch pan. Next, combine powdered sugar, eggs, and softened margarine, and beat for 20 minutes. Spread over graham cracker crust.

Slice bananas to cover top of mixture. Spread well-drained pineapple over banana layer. Spread Cool Whip over all, and sprinkle nuts and cherries on top. Refrigerate re·frig·er·ate

GROBE ICE CREAM PIE
1 quart vanilla ice cream
1 package Heath Bar Bits
1 prepared chocolate cookie trust


Soften ice cream. Mix with Heath Bar Bits, saving a few to sprinkle on top. Pile into cookie crust. Top with saved Heath Bar Bits. Freeze. Yield: 6-8 servings.

EASY CHOCOLATE MOUSSE

1 (6-ounce) package chocolate chips
2 eggs
3 tablespoons strong hot coffee
2 tablespoons Kahlua or Grand Marnier
1/4 cup milk scalded
1 cup non-dairy whipped topping


Blend all ingredients except whipped topping on high speed for 2 minutes. Pour into 4 dessert cups. Cover with aluminum foil, and chill 6-8 hours. Top with a dollop of whipped topping before serving . Easy to fix in the morning, chill during the day, and serve [of dinner. Yield: 4 servings.

TOO-EASY PEACH COBBLER

6 medium peaches, peeled and sliced
5 slices white bread, crust removed
1-1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 egg
1/2 cup butter, melted


Place peaches in an 8-inch square baking dish coated with vegetable cooking spray. Cut each slice of bread into 5 long strips, and place evenly over fruit. In a bowl, combine sugar, flour, egg, and melted butter. Pour over fruit and bread. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes of until golden brown, (Butter and sugar calamelize over bread strips. You won't know it's bread!) Serves 6.
