The bright stuff: celebrate 2007 with a splash of color.


The new year is all about flesh starts, and who knows more about them than freelance dancers? We tapped four to model our vibrant 2007 leotard looks (here with suggested retail prices), and share style tips and thoughts about taking off in new directions.

"You become your own motivator, your own judge in the mirror. It's up to you to self-inspire." Deanna likes to choose leotards that express her mood.

The company is currently based in the War Memorial Opera House, where it is directed by Helgi Tomasson. , Sonja Kostich decided to take control of her future. "You take your life in your own hands," she says. "The projects I pick, I am completely in love with." Sonja prefers a mix of colorful, comfortable fabrics.

Rosalynde LeBlanc, who danced in White Oak Dance Project and Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, is learning to embrace uncertainty. "I don't worry as much," says Rosalynde. "I've freelanced for four years now. It's worked out." When it comes to color, Rosalynde avoids black.
