The boards of directors of the Construction Industry Manufacturers Association, Milwaukee, and the Equipment Manufacturers Institute, Chicago, have each voted to approve a Memorandum of Understanding that would consolidate the two groups into one association.

would consolidate the two groups into one association. As a result of
the boards' approvals, EMI (ElectroMagnetic Interference) An electrical disturbance in a system due to natural phenomena, low-frequency waves from electromechanical devices or high-frequency waves (RFI) from chips and other electronic devices. Allowable limits are governed by the FCC. and CIMA are now working on an
implementation plan outlining in detail the organizational and
administrative structure of the consolidated association as proposed in
the Memorandum of Understanding. The consolidation proposal should go to
the memberships of the two associations for a vote sometime in the
summer of this year. If approved, the new association will legally begin
operation on Jan. 1, 2002.
