I have to admit that I've never been much of a spa-goer. I've never had a facial, and I've only had a handful of professional massages. Decadent dec·a·dent

? Do they really deserve all that fuss?

As I watched our guest editor, Marla Milling, being escorted back into the dark-wood interior of the Secret Garden Spa Outdoor bathing obviously has a longer history than indoor bathing and private outdoor open space is known to have been used for bathing since ancient times. Stepwells were used for this purpose in Ancient India. Gymnasiums in Ancient Greece contained bathing pools.  for two hours of pampering, I felt the tension in my back and neck, and I wondered, when will that be me? Like many of us, I find it hard to give myself the luxuries of life.

To me, relaxing means an evening at home with my man, my cats, and a good book. Or it could mean a night out eating delicious organic food. Or getting into a rhythm with my crochet hook and a ball of super-soft yarn. A house-full of friends laughing and joking can rejuvenate re·ju·ve·nate
