After almost 40 years of innovation and quality, the Ilchester Cheese Company Limited has been sold to its long serving, senior management as an MBO for an undisclosed sum. Inflexion Private Equity, the London based management buy-out specialists, has backed the MBO team, Melvin Glynn, Linda Retter, Gary Childs.

Speaking on behalf of the team, Melvin Glynn said: "Whilst in shareholder terms the buy out represents a new era for the company, customers can be assured of full continuity as there is no change in management nor focus. We intend to build upon the company's reputation for high quality and good service over the years to come."

The Ilchester Cheese Company is best known for its range of blended cheeses, which include brand names like Applewood[R], Five Counties[R] and Mexicana[TM].
