The Washington state Senate has approved a bill that could send people who pad their resumes to jail.


The Washington state Senate The Washington State Senate is the upper house of the Washington State Legislature. The body consists of 49 Senators, respresenting an equal number of districts across the state, each with a population of nearly 120,000.  has approved a bill that could send people who pad their resumes to jail. Senators unanimously approved the bill, which would make using a fake or unaccredited degree a felony felony (fĕl`ənē), any grave crime, in contrast to a misdemeanor, that is so declared in statute or was so considered in common law.  punishable by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. The bill also would criminalize crim·i·nal·ize

1. To impose a criminal penalty on or for; outlaw.

2. To treat as a criminal.
 lying--both orally and in writing--to get a job.
