Theoretical physicist Lee Smolin argues that physics as a science has lost its path and focus--and provides evidence based upon new knowledge of physics and science laws since the 1970s--which have been remarkably slim. During this period there've been many unproven and often popular theories--but no real advancements. One of the major reasons why is string theory--an attempt to bring together all diverse laws and theories under one umbrella--but the flaw here is, no part of it's been tested. Any interested in scientific advancement will find THE TROUBLE WITH PHYSICS: THE RISE OF STRING THEORY, THE FLAL FLAL Foreign Languages and Literatures  OF A SCIENCE, AND WHAT COMES NEXT to be a fine survey.
