The Tony Monaco Trio: Fiery Blues.

The Tony Monaco Trio: Fiery Blues, with Willie Pooch, vocals. Recorded in 2004, at Columbus Sound Recording Studio, Galena, Ohio. Engineer: Tony Monaco. 75+ minutes. Summit 425.

This is good, solid jazz, with plenty of blues style with some selections, and exemplary Hammond organ work by Monaco. If I were at a nightclub, having a few drinks with friends, this is the kind of band I would like to have playing up front. The recording is also well recorded (Monaco did his own engineering), with realistic soundstaging and good detail. The vocals are done the way they should be, with no elephantine enhancements. I though that the best DSP work to deliver a surround effect was done by the Dolby Pro Logic II circuits in my main system, although the "jazz-club" simulations I tried with my middle system were very effective also. DPL II still wins, however.
