The Sunset. (Page of Poetry).

The Sunset

   Glimmering, shimmering,
   Birdsong all around.
   The last lingering notes carrying
   Sorrowfully on the breeze.
Calling out to one and all
That today's light ends and night's
   begun.
   Glimmering, shimmering,
   The water's ripples smooth.
The sky--soft blue with pink and
   purple, too,
Is announcing down to all the world that
Day's light ends and night's begun.
