, The Spice Merchant, is celebrating 25 years of business. In 1980, owners Bob and Sue Boewe opened the shop selling coffee, tea and spices in a 400-sq. ft. back end of a storefront in Kansas, and within six months they were forced to move into a 3,000-sq. ft. store, adding accessories and some gourmet foods to the collection. Bob Boewe explained the company's account and history in the industry: "We only work with Royal Coffee, to make sure that we have the very best green coffee for roasting roasting: see cooking.

In 1994, the company purchased an adjacent historical manufacturing plant housing 10,000-sq. ft., and expanded their product lines to include 150+ bulk teas, 40+ roasted roast
