The Specialty Coffee Association of America Names Ric Rhinehart Executive Director.

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- The Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) Board of Directors announced today that Ric Rhinehart has been named executive director. Rhinehart has served as interim executive director since September 2007 and was a board officer prior to being tapped for the interim position.

Mark Inman, President of SCAA's Board of Directors said, "In March, our executive committee, conducted a review of Mr. Rhinehart's performance and found that he had performed at or above expectations in every review category. He also led the planning and execution for our annual conference and exhibition, which performed above our financial expectation. We decided we had the right person and we're delighted that he has accepted the position."

Rhinehart comes to SCAA with over 20 years operational, executive, and consulting experience in the coffee industry. Since 1993 he has served as a workshop trainer and on numerous SCAA committees, in addition to the board. Rhinehart said, "I have always been a passionate advocate for the role SCAA plays in the coffee industry and supported the work of the association as a volunteer. I'm thrilled to have this opportunity to lead a talented staff team and work closely with board members who share my enthusiasm for the mission and values of the association."
