This short novel is cinematic in its adventure scenes as Sherlock A Macintosh utility starting with Version 8.5 of the operating system that provides a common facility for searching the local hard disk, the local network and the Internet.  Holmes and Dr Watson are caught up in a search through London for a great treasure from half a world away. Along the journey, Watson falls Watson Falls is a 272-foot waterfall located on Watson Creek, a tributary of the Clearwater River tributary of the North Umpqua River in Oregon. External link

 in love with the sweet Miss Mary Morstan Mary Morstan is a fictional character, the wife of Dr. Watson, who is one of the main characters in the Sherlock Holmes canon. She is first introduced in The Sign of Four, where she and Dr.  who may inherit those riches. David Timson's superb reading and accompanying classical music make this fiction classic very attractive.

The booklet enclosed with the CDs discusses Holmes' initial use of cocaine, which some Victorians regarded as a tonic, and the novel ends with cocaine as a reward for Holmes' pondering of the challenging case. It also indicates that Doyle portrays the mild-mannered Andaman islanders Islanders may refer to:
  • New York Islanders, a ice hockey team based in Uniondale, New York that plays on the National Hockey League (NHL).
  • Puerto Rico Islanders, a Puerto Rican soccer team in the USL First Division, that currently play their home games at Juan Ramon
