The Scorecard

Owner: Pat Flemister Address: 4178 McCain Blvd., North Little Rock, 72117, 753-9576 Start-up date: Sept. 5

When it comes to sports memorabilia, Pat Flemister seems to have hit a home run.

He has opened a third location of The Scorecard at McCain Plaza in North Little Rock.

Flemister says he and his son built their inventory of sports memorabilia by collecting items as a hobby.

When Flemister decided to open the first Scorecard in 1980, he operated out of a small space on Tuesday nights and Saturdays.

Flemister utilized the business expertise he gained as an accountant. He says sales have grown from $28,000 during The Scorecard's first full year to almost $500,000 annually.

Flemister says The Scorecard has gained a statewide reputation among collectors of sports memorabilia. Therefore, he does little advertising.

The shop sells mostly sports cards, but Flemister says he has the largest inventory of licensed sports caps in Arkansas.
