RELATED ARTICLE: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY THE Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce has seen some changes since the San Fernando Valley Business Journal last published a list of the largest chambers of commerce in late 2000. However, its ranking as the largest, ranked by operating budget, was not one of them. The Santa Clarita chamber remains number one on the list. What has changed is the size of its budget ($850,000 in 2000 and $980,000 this year) and the number of members (1,417 two years ago and 1,500 now). The Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown. Westlake Westlake, city (1990 pop. 27,018), Cuyahoga co., NE Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland; inc. as a city 1956. A growing city, its various manufactures include ink and plastics. Village Regional Chamber of Commerce jumped to No. 2 on the list, but perhaps the biggest jump in status is that of the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce, which moved from No. 11 on the 2000 list to No. 3 this year. |
