The Razz: JACKO & WESTLIFE; Boss's plea to get star on new album.
WESTLIFE have approached Michael Jackson with plans to sing with him on their next album KianEgan,Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne and Mark Feehily, who recorded with Diana Ross and Mariah Carey for their latest album, said they had talked with Jacko's management via their ownmanager LouisWalsh with a view to recording with him soon.
Shane said: "His management said he knew who we were and that they'd love to have us if Michael was up for it. It's early days, so let's not get too excited until you hear it."
The Irish boyband were at Clyde 1 and Real Radio stations yesterday to promote their latest single You Raise Me Up. Nicky was unable to make the trip to Scotland as he was attending a funeral.
But the rest of the boys were in fine spirits as they hopped off their tour bus to greet cheering fans who had waited for their afternoon visit since 5am.
Mark refuted claims he was getting married to his gay lover, V's Kevin McDaid, after coming out last month.
He said: "I'm not getting married at all. It was all rubbish and I didn't see it coming. Since I came out the fans hardly mention it."
Mark revealed he's been spending time in his own recording studio built on to the side of his home. He said: "I write songs from time to time, but it's just a hobby, and it's not like I'm going solo."
The boys said they had spoken with former Westlife singer Brian McFadden earlier this week while he was in LA with girlfriend Delta Goodrem.
Shane said: "We slagged him off as usual. I don't know if he has regrets about leaving the band and I don't think he'd ever tell us if he felt that.We do miss the laughs with him on the road."
The band also poured cold water on the rumour that he was marrying Delta. Shane said: "I think he'd have mentioned it. We talk to him every couple of weeks."
Shane also revealed he's been getting used to being a dad after wife Gillian gave birth to baby Nicole in July. He said: "Every day is new and full of excitement."
The guys are confident about their new album and are hoping for a Christmas No1 from their duet with Diana Ross When You Tell Me That You Love Me.
Shane said: "It's coming out Christmas week and obviously everyone's hoping to get a Christmas No1.We'd love it."
The band will be up against G4 and Cliff Richard's festive track. Shane said: "Good luck to them. It would be fantastic if we could all get a Christmas No. 1."
Kian added: "It's going to be all go from now on. We'll have two singles out before Christmas and then another in the new year.
"Then we'll be preparing for the tour, which will run in March, April and May.
"We've not really confirmed any dates yet but tickets will probably go on sale in about a month. We'll be touring through Europe, Asia and South Africa
