The Randstad Group Selects PeopleSoft Enterprise Supplier Relationship Management; Leading Staffing Agency to Enable Vendor Managed Services Worldwide.

LONDON -- Today at its EMEA Connect 2004 customer conference, PeopleSoft Inc. (Nasdaq:PSFT) announced that The Randstad Group, one of the largest temporary and contract staffing organisations in the world, purchased PeopleSoft Enterprise(R) Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) in Q3 2004. With more than 1,600 branches worldwide and in-house operations within 642 client companies, Randstad places an average of 206,000 employees on a daily basis. PeopleSoft SRM will provide Randstad's customers with a single system for staffing contract and temporary labour utilising a vendor managed services model.

Industry-Leading Vendor Managed Services Offering

PeopleSoft Enterprise Services Procurement, a component of PeopleSoft SRM, will enable Randstad to automate its vendor managed service offering. Under a vendor managed services agreement, staffing providers manage the recruitment, time recording and payment of temporary employees on behalf of their customers. As a result, Randstad will be able to more effectively help its customers administer the end-to-end process for managing staff.

Automating the Source-to-Settle Process for Temporary Labour

Staffing companies are under intense pressure to minimise the lead time between receiving a request for staff and deployment. The PeopleSoft solution will enable Randstad to create and process high volumes of often complex requisitions on behalf of its customers. These online requisitions can then be routed internally or, if required, externally to Ranstad's network of staffing organisations. Both internal and external candidates' skills are immediately evaluated and ranked according to the customers' criteria. As a result, the best-qualified resource is quickly identified and reviewed by the customer for placement.

In addition, PeopleSoft Enterprise SRM will enable Randstad to manage the invoicing and settlement processes for the procurement of temporary labour. Randstad can reduce the time, cost and errors associated with paper-based reconciliation processes through embedded workflow and invoice matching. This unique functionality enables matching between requisition, approvals, time sheets, work orders, and invoices. These processes can now be managed online reducing payment cycle times and increasing payment accuracy.

Multi-Language and Multi-Currency Capabilities for Randstad's Global Needs

Randstad will leverage PeopleSoft Enterprise SRM's multi-lingual and multi-currency capabilities for its global deployment. The solution supports multiple tax methods including value added tax (VAT), goods and service tax (GST), and additional sales and use tax requirements. In addition, PeopleSoft Enterprise SRM simplifies the management of multi-currency transactions. This enables customers to maintain control and reporting accuracy, while utilising different currencies throughout various stages of the sourcing, procurement and settlement processes.
