The ROSE AWARDS Program.Recognition of Significant Efforts The NRPA NRPA National Recreation and Park Association NRPA Natural Resources Protective Association (Staten Island, NY) NRPA Niagara Regional Police Association (Canada) NRPA National Rifle and Pistol Association ROSE (Recognition of Significant Efforts) Award, created in 1994 by the NRPA Awards Committee, seeks to recognize all of those individuals in your agency or organization who have "gone the extra mile" to advance parks and recreation in your community. At the same time, you will be advancing the causes of parks and recreation by sharing with your community the successes of these individuals. To apply, send the following: (1) A nomination letter, no more than three pages in length, stating why this person has shown significant efforts in advancing parks and recreation in their community. Support material (articles, resumes, etc.) can be included, but are not required. (2) Two additional letters of recommendation from persons other than the nominator. Please send these with the nominating letter. (3) The form on the back, filled out completely. phone number. (4) A self-addressed, stamped envelope. There is no cost to apply for this award. SELECTION PROCEDURE (1) All applications will be forwarded to the NRPA Awards Committee for review. ROSE Awards will be formally approved at the NRPA committee meetings held biannually bi·an·nu·al adj. 1. Happening twice each year; semiannual. 2. (3) Upon acceptance, the nominator will receive a NRPA ROSE Award certificate in the nominee's name. NRPA would like the public to know about these special people, their efforts, and the importance of recreation. To that end, NRPA requests that the winner be photographed receiving their award and that a short press release and picture be sent to local media, as well as to NRPA headquarters. DEADLINES To have an application reviewed during the May NRPA Awards committee meeting entries must be received by April 15 of any year.
