The Point Group Jazzes Up Look of White Rock Marathon; Dallas-Based Agency Brings Fun, Unity to Event's Materials.

The Point Group, a full-service communications agency in its second year of work on the marathon's creative and marketing efforts, designed the "jazz runner" logo that symbolizes the Dec. 13 event. The colorful, funky funky - Said of something that functions, but in a slightly strange, klugey way. It does the job and would be difficult to change, so its obvious non-optimality is left alone. "The main goal for this year's race was to gain public awareness, and also to make it fun. The White Rock Marathon is a competitive event surrounded by a fun atmosphere, and that's what we wanted to bring out in its logo," said Susan McFarland, Point president of advertising. "We wanted some continuity throughout this year's event materials. By using this logo and color scheme, every promotion piece has a unifying 'look' to it."

The Point Group's creative department created and illustrated the "jazz runner" logo utilizing a bright palette of purple, orange, yellow, green and black that translates the competitiveness of running and the excitement into color.
