The PMI Foundation's contribution will go towards the completion of Lazarus House's transitional housing wing. The transitional wing will have capacity for 12 apartment rooms and will be able to accommodate 28 people. Its grand opening will take place June 14th.

The PMI Foundation's commitment to support initiatives and organizations that foster greater access to affordable housing for underserved groups and minorities dovetails with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development sponsored "Continuum of Care."
Continuum of Care is designed to deliver three steps of housing and services to meet the specific needs of the homeless as they move toward stable housing and self-sufficiency. Lazarus House oversees its own Continuum of Care program.
Lazarus's services provide step-one, emergency shelter Emergency shelters are places for people to live temporarily when they can't live in their previous residence, similar to homeless shelters. The main difference is that an emergency shelter typically specializes in people fleeing a specific type of situation, such as battered to persons connected with the Kane County community who are homeless or in need.
