Morris, Senior Technical Associate for DuPont Packaging and Industrial Polymers, received the 2005 PLACE Division Technical Award and Rohm and Haas Rohm and Haas Company (NYSE: ROH), a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania based company, manufactures miscellaneous materials. A Fortune 500 Company, Rohm and Haas employs more than 17,000 people in 27 countries. The annual sales revenue of Rohm and Haas stands at about USD 8.2 billion. Prize. Presented annually, this award recognizes outstanding accomplishments or contributions which have advanced the industry's technology. Ahlbrandt Prize. This annual award recognizes an individual who has a proven history of diligent work for TAPPI; the PLACE Division; or division committees. It was founded in 1951 in Lund, Sweden by Ruben Rausing and Erik Wallenberg. The company is part of the Tetra Laval group which also includes Sidel- who specialise in PET bottles- and DeLaval, a Carton Ambient AB were awarded both the Best Paper Award and the Dragan Djordjevic Award for their paper "Rheological rhe·ol·o·gy n. The study of the deformation and flow of matter. rhe o·log Indicators to Predict the Extrusion Coating Performance of LDPE LDPEabbr. low-density polyethylene ." This paper was selected by conference attendees as the best out of more than 100 papers presented at the 2004 TAPPI PLACE Conference. TAPPI's Extrusion Coating Committee selected this paper to receive the Dragan Djordjevic award which honors the best paper about extrusion coating presented at the conference. Karl Zuercher Development Leader for Dow Chemical Corp. received the Best Session award for the 2004 PLACE conference for his session, "European Exchange." Conference attendees chose this session as the best of the 2004 PLACE Conference. Victor Melendez of Cornish College of the Arts .
