 provides an overview of the chemistry of inorganic pigments, organic pigments, and, briefly, pigments for special effects special effects, in motion pictures, cinematographic techniques that create illusions in the audience's minds as well as the illusions created using these techniques. . The basic chemistry of synthetic organic pigments receives the bulk of the author's attention. There is a solid list of some 154 references, including many to more comprehensive sources of information on pigments and their use. The monograph provides a good introduction for students and for research and development personnel with an interest in surface coatings.
