; Order Provides Strong Backlog for 2008

CINCINNATI -- The O'Gara Group, Inc. today announced that its Sensor Technology Systems, Inc. (STS (Synchronous Transport Signal) The electrical equivalent of the SONET optical signal. In SDH, the European counterpart of SONET, STS is known as STM (Synchronous Transport Module). ) subsidiary received an order worth $16 million from the Italian Ministry of Defense for an undisclosed number of STS' advanced AN/PVS-21 Low Profile Night Vision Goggles (LPNVG). This is the third contract awarded to STS since 2004 by the Italian Ministry of Defense for STS' night vision goggles.

This contract is a follow on to a $15 million order received in 2005 and a $9 million order that was received in 2004. Deliveries under both of those orders are being made through 2007 and both prior orders were for LPNVGs for the same group of operators within the Italian Army. The combined total value of the three contacts with the Italian Ministry of Defense is approximately $40 million.
