The Nutcracker ballet curls up with a book.


If anyone from this cast of The Nutcracker wants to read the original E.T.A. Hoffmann story on which the ballet is based, they won't have to Google it. They can simply locate it on a nearby bookshelf. The Carnegie Performing Arts Center's 30th Nutcracker takes place in the historic Andrew Carnegie Free Library in Carnegie, PA. The town and library are named after the steel magnate and philanthropist who built the library in 1901.

The Nutcracker will be performed in the library's Music Hall, which was modeled after Carnegie Hall in New York.
