The National Multiple Sclerosis Society has honored Bruce Corwin, chairman of Metropolitan Theaters and supporter of multiple sclerosis research, with the Dorothy Corwin Spirit of Life award.

 Bruce Bruce, Scottish royal family descended from an 11th-century Norman duke, Robert de Brus. He aided William I in his conquest of England (1066) and was given lands in England.  Corwin, chairman of Metropolitan Theaters and supporter of multiple sclerosis multiple sclerosis (MS), chronic, slowly progressive autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks the protective myelin sheaths that surround the nerve cells of the brain and spinal cord (a process called demyelination), resulting in damaged areas  research, with the Dorothy Corwin Spirit of Life award. The award was named after Corwin's mother, who was also a long-time supporter of multiple sclerosis research. The award is given each year to an individual living with multiple sclerosis. Michael Lynton, chairman and chief executive of Sony Pictures Entertainment, was also honored at the society's 32nd annual dinner of champions on Sept 21.
