The Nation's Weather

Gusty winds were forecast Sunday for the Mid-Atlantic coast as the strong low pressure system that brought severe weather to the Southeast moves into the Atlantic Ocean.

A high pressure system was expected to slide in behind the storm and bring dry conditions from the eastern Plains through the Appalachians.

Snow was forecast for the mountains of Southern California and parts of some western states.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Saturday ranged from a low of minus 6 degrees at Kremmling, Colo., to a high of 103 degrees at McAllen, Texas.
