CAMBRIDGE, Mass., June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The Monitor Group announces the recent appointment of Mr. Richard Perle as a Senior Advisor. Mr. Perle will provide counsel to the Group on international relations, diplomacy and statecraft, domestic and international security issues and the policy-making and political process.

Richard Perle is Resident Fellow, American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research, Washington DC (1987-) where he has directed its commission on Future Defenses.

Previously, he served as Chairman of the Defense Policy Board (2001-2003); Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy (1981-87); and served on the US Senate Staff (1960-1980). He has a B.A. in International Politics, University of Southern California (1964); a M.A. Politics, Princeton University (1967); Honours Examinations, London School of Economics (1962-63) and various Fellowships including Princeton University, Ford Foundation and American Council of Learned Societies.

Mr. Perle writes frequently for the op-ed pages of the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, The Daily Telegraph (London), Jerusalem Post and other publications. He is the co-author of "An End to Evil" and author of "Hard Line," a political novel.
