John Sherrod, founder of Clareos and Solution Point and a recognized expert in business start-ups, has been appointed chairman of the advisory board. Rocky Stewart, former chief technology officer (CTO) of the BEA Integration Products Division, joins Sherrod as the second inaugural board member.

The Strategic Advisory Board is chartered with helping The Mind Electric define vertical market opportunities and plan for partnerships, strategic alliances, business development, and growth, and is expected to expand to a five-person board comprised of several of the most influential leaders in high technology, business, and finance.

John Sherrod, an accomplished entrepreneur and software industry veteran with a background in Health Care, Pharmaceutical, Financial Services and Retail markets, is a recognized expert in conceptualizing, launching, and managing all aspects of a start-up information and technology firm. Sherrod brings broad-based skills and experiences in general management, finance, strategic marketing, sales, information technology, software development, and product management, and has a proven track record of solid accomplishments in both large multinational and start-up companies, as well as turnaround situations. Most recently, Sherrod founded and served as president and CEO of Clareos, a venture-backed company that has developed a breakthrough solution for extremely rapid data access and analysis. Prior to Clareos, Sherrod founded and served as president and CEO of Solution Point, a venture-backed firm that developed and delivered the first fully integrated consumer information system for healthcare.

Rocky Stewart has been in the software business for nearly 20 years and brings considerable software and business expertise to The Mind Electric. For the past three years he has been with BEA Systems as chief technology officer of the BEA Integration Products Division, responsible for the technology vision and direction for the BEA WebLogic Integration Platform. Prior to BEA, he was the founder and president of Component Systems, Inc., a leading software architecture consulting company that was later acquired by BEA Systems. Stewart was also lead software architect of the Satellite Control Segment and the Network Management System of Motorola's IRIDIUM project. Stewart designed several large, complex control and monitoring systems including the "Nerve System" controlling Biosphere 2, a bio-regenerative life-support system prototype for Mars, and the engine flight control subsystem of the new Comanche stealth helicopter.
