The Make And Do Bible: Reproducible Craft Ideas For Ages 6-12 retells 48 of the best known and most beloved biblical stories; accompanying each story is a simple craft project that encourages young people to express and develop their faith as they think about the Good News. For example, one story is a brief biblical parable parable, the term translates the Hebrew word "mashal"—a term denoting a metaphor, or an enigmatic saying or an analogy. In the Greco-Roman rhetorical tradition, however, "parables" were illustrative narrative examples. Jewish teachers of the 1st cent. A.D.  about sowing God's Word as one would sow seed, and the activity involves making a mosaic with seeds. Simple, cartoony illustrations and photographs add a visual touch to the biblical stories and craft steps. An enjoyable "hands-on" resource for Sunday School Sunday school, institution for instruction in religion and morals, usually conducted in churches as part of the church organization but sometimes maintained by other religious or philanthropic bodies.
