Money raised from the Midsummer events will directly benefit the Magic Johnson Foundation's Taylor Michaels Scholarship Program. Highlighting the benefit weekend is the popular All-Star basketball game on Aug. 6 at Pauley Pavilion Edwin W. Nelison "Nick" Anderson (born January 20, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois) is a retired American basketball player. The Magic Johnson Foundation's Taylor Michaels Scholarship Program is designed to provide support to college-bound students. Recommended by school counselors, students accepted for the program exemplify a strong potential for academic achievement but face socio-economic conditions that hinder them from reaching their full potential.
